Tuition alone is over 50K/year. Would have taken a much larger donation


funny thing to me is that some people have always referred to it as University of Spoiled Children, which is spot-on in this case.
I wonder how much slots at USC would go for if they were truly sold. I saw an article with this idea yesterday - imagine setting a baseline (GPA and test scores) and if you were above that baseline, you could buy your way in with a one-time donation, then pay regular tuition fees. School would reserve 100 slots or so for these students. What sort of one-time fee could they raise with this plan? 100K per student? (10M) Higher ? USC has 20K undergrads, so at 5K per class, these 100 would make up 2% of the Freshman class every year. Everyone submits a private bid, and the top 100 are taken...
